With the time remaining until we embark on the trail, we are asking/reminding parents to help/assist our valiant youth to succeed in Finding a name from his/her family history.  If unsure how to do, seek assistance from a Family History Consultant in your unit and/or visit with a Family History Consultant at the Family History Center to learn how this process is to be done.

Next, Take the name found to the temple to have ordinances performed.  This can be the youth who found the name, you as parents or another who can help have temple ordinances performed.

Finally, Teach another to do the same.  Help your youth teach another the same process as he/she engaged in.

While on the trail, youth will have multiple opportunities to share their experience(s).  Specifically, an evening devotion will center around youth sharing their experience(s) and testimonies of this great work.  We echo the words of Elder Quentin L. Cook when he said: "Let me emphasize with you the "find, take, teach" process. By "find," we mean to use the FamilySearch.org website or the family booklet, My Family: Stories That Bring Us Together, to find the name of one or more of our ancestors or their descendants.  Then take these names to the temple or share them with others so they can take them. When possible, go to the temple as a family. Finally, teach our families this process, and then teach others to do the same.  As an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, I leave my blessing upon you with a promise that if you look beyond the bonds of time and mortality and help those who cannot help themselves, you will be blessed with more closeness and joy in your family and with the divine protections afforded those who are faithful in His service."
